Moto X Pure Edition Specs & Release Date News: New Handset to Arrive on Sept. 3
Early this month, Motorola launched two latest additions to its flagship devices lineup - the new Moto G and the 2015 edition of the Moto X. In addition, the company has stated that it would also be launching its latest flagship devices to the customers directly.
Christian Today reports that though Motorola has already made a decision to launch its recent flagships directly to their customers, the company will also be releasing a model for North American carriers. The Moto X Pure Edition, which will be called the Moto X Style globally, will be the flagship device for residents in the U.S. and Canada.
At the time of the launch of its new flagships early this month, Motorola did not announce any precise release date for the Moto X, besides saying that it would come "sometime in September." Nevertheless, recently the company announced that it has pegged the release date for the Moto X Pure Edition.
Recently, Motorola confirmed on its official Twitter page that the Moto X Pure Edition will be released for North American users on Sept. 3. The company also announced that the starting price of the device will be $399. In addition, the handset will be released as a completely unlocked device, suggesting that it will work on major U.S. carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
There are reports that the Moto X Pure Edition will also have support for major Canadian carriers.
The Moto X Pure Edition is the third generation in the Moto X series. In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.7-inch QHD LCD display, a Snapdragon 808 processor, and 3 GB of RAM. The device will also be shipped in three storage variants - 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB. All the variants will have expandable memory capacity via microSD support.
Moroever, the Moto X Pure Edition will come with a 21-megapixel primary camera at the back, front-facing stereo speakers, and a 3000 mAh battery unit with Turbo Charging option. The device will run on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 right out of the box.
