Moto X 2016 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Flagship To Be Revealed At Lenovo’s 2016 Tech Event In June?
Lenovo's Moto X is reportedly getting a new name as the flagship phone, the specs of which reportedly bring it to the company's G line, is expected to be unveiled during the 2016 Tech World Show on June 9.
It's been a busy 2015 for Lenovo after releasing basically four phones, including the Moto X Play, Moto X Style (unveiled in July) and the Moto X Force, which was launched in October. The X was still hot off the shelves when the rumors about the new Moto X 2016 began.
Evan Blass leaked an image of the new flagship which seems to feature a backplate that can be replaced with three distinct versions. A large rotary camera also sits on the center in one of the backplates.
The Moto X 2016 will reportedly feature a much bigger battery, which is good news for fans who might be disappointed with the Moto Style's 2,500mAh. The other specs also include a 5.5 AMOLED display and probably powered by a Snapdragon 625 paired with a 2-3 GB of RAM or and either a 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage, said the report.
Lenovo has been mum about the release date for the Moto X 2016, and it's quite hard to predict what the Chinese company will do since it doesn't hold an annual event where it regularly unveils new products. But rumors point out that the new flagship will arrive next month.
According to Pocket-Lint, Lenovo's CEO Yang Yuanqing has hinted of a new smartphone that will be launched by the company during the Tech World event, and fans immediately took that to mean that he's referring to the new Moto X 2016.
