Moto X 2016 Release Date, Specs News: Processor Changes To MediaTek Helio P10?

The latest news surrounding the Moto X 2016 hint a shift in the processor that will be used in the new flagship from Motorola. The phone was reportedly included in the Benchmark listing at the GFXBench website.

The benchmark listing is the result of a series of tests to determine the quality of the product-whether it's CPU, mobile or any other device-from the display, processor, camera, memory, storage and the features.

The benchmark listing for the Moto X 2016 carries the title "3D Graphics Performance of Motorola XT1662," if the specs rumors are to be believed.

What's interesting about this news is that the new Moto X 2016 might be running on the 2.1GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa core CPU. The new processor is the first of the company's P series that uses TSMC's 28nm HPC+ process.

What this means, according to the website is "reduced processor power consumption, saving up to 30% more powercompared to existing smartphone SoCs."

It also promises faster performance and data speed, full HD display at 60 fps, camera capable of reaching DLSR levels in terms of quality, and hi-fidelity and hi-clarity audio. As to the graphics, it's a dual-core 64-bit Mali-T860 graphics core clocked at 700MHz.

Judging from all that specs, the Moto X 2016 seems to be a very promising mobile phone indeed. Meanwhile, the tech manufacturer has not really confirmed whether it's ditching the Snapdragon for MediaTek.

There's no official release date for the Moto X 2016 yet, but the device is expected to come out this autumn.
