Moto X 2016 Release Date News, Specs: Newest Device To Be Released This Month? 5.5-Inch Screen, AMOLED Display
New details on the release and specifications of the Moto X 2016 have surfaced.
According to Tech Times, Motorola is set to announce the Moto X at the Lenovo Tech World event in San Francisco, California, which is on June 9. As per the publication, the device is also set to be rebranded into Moto Z.
Mobile reporter Evan Blass hinted a change in name of the Moto X to Moto Z. He wrote "Goodbye, Moto X; Hello, Moto Z." This further means that Lenovo's developers could be making way for the "Z" generation, as the "X" generation Moto phones are set to be phased out soon.
As per MNR Daily, Lenovo unveiled three smartphone variants as its players in the market - the Moto X Play, Moto X Force, and Moto X Style. According to the publication, the three phone variants serve as precursors to the launch of a new flagship this year.
In terms of specifications, the Moto X or Moto Z is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch screen with an AMOLED display, in addition to its sleek and metallic design. The device is also set to run the Snapdragon 625 processor, which gives a mid-range processing power. Its memory is set to be 2GB; however, it can be upgraded to 3GB. In terms of internal storage, the upcoming phone presents a 16GB and a 32GB variant.
The Moto X is also revealed to feature a large rear camera, along with a fingerprint sensor on the front and pogo pins at the bottom. According to Christian Daily, the pins allow the device to be attached to other accessories, such as speakers, projectors, and cameras.
Overall, the Moto X is assumed to be released in June.
