Moto X 2016 News, Rumors: Lenovo Changes Name Of Flagship Once Again?

The next generation of Moto X 2016 was initially thought to come under the Moto Z and Moto Z Force lineup. But now a new rumor is claiming another change in name: apparently, the next phone to come out of Lenovo will be the Moto M.

There are rumors going around, as shared by Pocket Now, that the fourth generation mobile device is still very much in the pipeline.

But it's going to be rebranded as Moto M. In terms of specs, it's somewhere just below the Moto Z in terms of features and capacity. The 4.6-inch screen is going to be a full HD, powered by Helio P10 SoC and features a 3 GB RAM and 16 MP main snapper, as well as 8 MP on the front.

If indeed the new phone will be using the Helio P10 SoC, it gives a glimpse into Lenovo's marketing strategy by focusing on the rather untapped middle-range handsets.

A news article from Tech Times reported that model number XT1662, thought to refer to the next generation Moto X 2016, has received certification from the China Compulsory Certificate. This document will cover all devices that are manufactured in China.

The Moto X 2016 was also supposed to have been benchmarked by website GFXBench, which only confirmed rumors that Lenovo is rolling out the phone sooner than later. The website also listed that the phone is run by MediaTek CPU and Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The phone will be powered by the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Watch out for more rumors and news on the Moto X 2016, which will be published here when they become available.
