Moto X+1 Release Date, Specs News: Motorola's Newest Smartphone Features Revealed in Latest Report

In latest Moto X+1 news, details regarding Motorola's upcoming smartphone have been released online, according to numerous reports.

According to the Android Police website, the newest Motorola device looks very similar to the previous Moto X (which was released on August 23, 2013), but Moto X+1 will feature a wood, plastic and leather back.

In addition, Moto X+1 is rumored to feature a 5.1-inch/5.2-inch screen, 1920 x 1080p, plus a 12 mega-pixel rear, 2/5 mega-pixel front camera.

The alleged device is also expected to run on a Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, with a storage capability of 24GB/3GB.

According to the TK Tech website, the gadget will additionally feature a small SD slot in 3 different storage sizes: 16GB, 32GB and 64B respectively.

The Moto X+1 is also rumored to feature a pedometer, which has some websites assuming it is related to the forthcoming Moto 360 smartwatch device that is similarly expected to be released any day now.

Moto X+1's battery is expected to be either 2,800 mAh or 2,900 mAh.

Here are the other specs that are rumored to be included when the second generation Motorola smartphone debuts in 2014.

  • Memory: 1.7GB RAM/2GB
  • GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 330
  • OS: Android KitKat 4.4.4

Moto X+1 will likely to face stiff competition very soon when Apple is expected to debut its iPhone 6 this Fall.

The smartphone will be created by Google despite the fact Lenovo bought Motorola Mobility from arguably the most popular search engine company in the world during this year's first quarter.

Moto X+1 (aka Moto X2) is expected to be released in stores this month or in September.
