Next Gen Moto E News, Rumors: Motorola Plans to Launch Third-Generation Budget Smartphone?

Buoyed by the huge success of its budget Android smartphone Moto E, Motorola is contemplating to launch a successor to the device sometime soon. In fact, PhoneArena suggests that Motorola is working to release the third-generation Moto E sooner than expected.

Reporting on the specs of the purported third-generation Moto E, PhoneArena claims that the upcoming smartphone will operate on 850-1900 MHz GSM frequency and support Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi b/g/n. In fact, the 850-1900 MHz GSM frequency is a general standard in most countries.

However, the purported Moto E successor will not support 4G LTE connectivity, indicating that the device will essentially be a low budget smartphone.

Unlike the Moto E, the upcoming device is expected to come with a 4.5-inch screen display and also be larger in size. The Moto E has a 4.3-inch screen display. The Moto E also features 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 SoC with Adreno 320 GPU, 1GB of RAM and Android KitKat 4.4 operating system in a well built casing.

While Motorola has yet to confirm or deny the report regarding a third-generation Moto E, IBTimes speculates that the upcoming smartphone may not be dubbed as a successor to the existing Moto E line of devices, but the company may choose to introduce an altogether new range to budget smartphones, which is likely to be similar to the Moto E line of products.

It is expected that Motorola will incorporate some enhancements in the purported successor to Moto E, such as a better processor and improved camera. The camera of the existing Moto E is somewhat inadequate in challenging lighting conditions, besides lacking autofocus.
