‘Mortal Kombat X’ News: Two Classic Characters - Johnny Cage and Kenshi - Return in Upcoming Game [TRAILER]
'Mortal Kombat X,' the upcoming fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and High Voltage Software, will be including two familiar characters to the game's player roster. According to Gamespot, these characters are Johnny Cage and Kenshi.
Quoting the gaming website, Latin Post reports that Cage is a character from the original video game 'Mortal Kombat.' Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Cage and Sonya, will also be included in the roster. In fact, it is quite natural that if Cassie Cage features in 'Mortal Kombat X,' Johnny Cage should also be there.
Cinema Blend reports that the character of Cage was inspired by action actor Jean-Claude Van Damme. Precisely speaking, Cage, who is a half caricature and half replica of Van Damme, joined the fighting scene on 'Mortal Kombat' to establish that he was a first-rate fighter and not simply a creation of stunts and smart camera work.
In 'Mortal Kombat,' Cage proves that he is a great fighter and winds up being one of the most frequent characters in the fighting video game.
In a video interview with Adam Urabno, a senior producer at NetherRealm Studios validated that Johnny Cage will be included in the upcoming game. While the interview has been removed now, IGN was successful in securing some quotes from it.
Urbano said, "You'll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we're also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny," adding, "You'll get a chance to see Kenshi and a chance to see a couple more."
Urbano also confirmed that Kenshi is the other character that will be included in 'Mortal Kombat X.' A blind fighter, Kenshi utilizes telekinesis to dominate his opponents and his abilities enable him to wreak damage on his opponents even without getting close to them.
In the game, Kenshi uses a sword containing the spirits of past warriors, who guide him when he is in combat. As Kenshi is blind, his other senses are heightened and he able to sense when opponents are coming at him and, hence, can often catch them by surprise.
