‘Mortal Kombat X’ News: ‘Quitality’ Feature to Punish Rage Quitters, New Characters Announced [VIDEO]
From now on, people deciding to quit a 'Mortal Kombat X' fight without completing the game will be penalized. Purported rage quitters who become aggravated when they seem to be losing and quit a fight before completing it will enable their opponents the chance at a "quitality."
Latin Post reports that developer NetherRealm Studios has designed a "quitality" to stop online 'Mortal Kombat X' players from quitting a fight, leaving it incomplete. Henceforth, any player leaving the game before completing it will allow their opponent to earn a "quitality." Precisely speaking, a quitality offers the opponent a "flawless victory." In other words, the opponent does not suffer any damage, while the head of the player quitting the game is blown up.
In 'Mortal Kombat' games, getting a flawless victory means the character has succeeded in defeating their opponent even without being touched once. In other words, their health meter remains full. Gaining such victories signifies a more commanding victory and may possibly give the players additional online points or even boost their ranking.
Polygon reports that NetherRealm developer Derek Kirtzic said, "It's really more [about] making the winner look better."
The description on the Kombat Pack's via Xbox Games Store refers to Jason Vorhees - from 'Friday the 13th', as well as Predator. In addition, the pack will also include two more "Klassic" Mortal Kombat characters.
Players buying the Premium Edition of the Kombat Pack will get early access to all these four additional characters.
According to IGN, 'Mortal Kombat X' has indicated that five rumored fighters may possibly make it into the game during the live demo stream of the game.
During the live streaming of the game, fans saw the moves of Stryker Assist, Smoke Assist, Rain Assist, Kabal Blades and Cyrax Bombs in the list of modifiers. However, the developer has not confirmed the inclusion of Stryker, Smoke, Rain, Kabal and Cyrax in the game. These moves may possibly let the fighters to call one of these characters to help them temporarily help they are in trouble during a fight.
'Mortal Kombat X' is slated for released on April 14.
