'Mortal Kombat X' New Character News: Erron Black Revealed, Stances & Moves
The release of the newest installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise is only two weeks away and the roster still isn't complete. Ed Boon, one of the game's creators announced that at least two more characters will be revealed before the launch.
One of those characters is newcomer Erron Black, the western gunslinger from Earthrealm. Many were speculating this character to be playable as he was seen in the Mortal Kombat X story trailer as well as a leaked screen shot shown earlier this month.
Not much is known about Erron Black, but he did appear in the prequel comics for the game. Like the other characters, Black will have three fighting variations: Marksman, Outlaw, and Gunslinger.
IGN described the Marksman as "a ranged focused mode, with a defensive back-up move that deals ranged damage while retreating. He also gains a powerful pop-up with follow-up."
Next up is the Outlaw variation where Black replaces his guns for a sword for main attacks along with his pistols. The most interesting move for this is that he can break off the blade into an opponent's body to make them bleed throughout the match.
Gunslinger is considered the classic mode as Black uses long range, quick-draw moves to defeat his opponents. A coin-toss move allows players to angle a coin into an opponent's body.
Last but not least, Black's fatality is as gruesome as the others. After a ricocheting bullet goes through an opponent's body, Black uses a sand bomb that implodes the opponent.
Mortal Kombat X releases April 14, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release will follow in the summer, according to Game Rant.
