Despite coming off a shocking 1-0 loss at the hands of Serie A cellar dweller Parma, Juventus still go into their Champions League quarterfinal matchup with Monaco as the favorites in the eyes of many.

"Juventus are a great team with formidable players"”a compact group who are very organized, Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho told TuttoSport, "We say that they are the favorites, but then Arsenal were also the favorites," he said referring to the opponents they beat on away goals in a 3-3 aggregate draw.

Juventus virtually fielded a second-string team (with Gigi Buffon, Carlos Tevez, Andrea Barzagli, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Kwadwo Asamoah, and Martin Caceres all either injured or resting) against Parma when they suffered just their second Serie A defeat of the season, and will look not only to bounce back from a shocking loss, but also enter the semifinals for the first time in over a decade.

The odds are stacked against Monaco as they hope to upset their second straight opponent in the Champions League. Monaco has never won in Italy, while Juve have won all 10 of their knockout ties against French opponents.

Said Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim, "Juventus are among the biggest sides around. They are favorites for our tie. We're lucky to play the second leg at home. We'll try to make the most of this quarterfinal. They have top quality players who have plenty of unity and togetherness."

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, for his part, was wary of their opponents Tuesday. "We were all in the dressing room preparing for training when they told us we'd drawn Monaco. It will be a fantastic tie, very important. Every team is difficult to face; we're talking about the best eight in Europe. I think it will be 50-50, and we'll just remain focused and try to qualify."
