'Modern Family' Cast News: Ariel Winter Talks Life After Acting, Law School, & Emancipation

'Modern Family' star Ariel Winter may only be 17-years-old but the actress has already embarked on several undertakings in life including College hunting, as well as preparing for her future besides acting, and thinking of going to law school and emancipation.

While some may think that Winter's concerns may be too forward, the actress however feels the need to prepare early to assure her future as she just recently took a school tour as she is now choosing the college she wants to go to.

In her recent interview at the recent TV Academy screening for the show's season finale, Winter updated her fans about what is going on with her life right now. "I toured around schools in California and I'm going to take a tour of East Coast schools," she said.

"I would love to continue acting but it's definitely important, I think, to go and do something else as well," Winter explained of other fields she wants to pursue. "You never know if something's not going to work out, if one day acting is like, 'No, we don't like you anymore!' You gotta have something else you can do. I've always been interested in law so I think it'll definitely be something that I'll love to do and also go to school for," she said.

With that given, Winter also apparently finalized her emancipation case that was recently reported saying that the actress was allegedly being physically and emotionally abused by her mother, Chrisoula Workman.

"I am now officially emancipated!!!" Winter posted on Twitter recently announcing the news to everyone. After her incident with her mother, the actress apparently started living with her sister Shanelle Gray since 2012.

"I'm really lucky I have an amazing support system and lovely people in my life who have given me the support and guidance to have been given this wonderful opportunity," Winter also tweeted on Friday. "Most importantly I want to thank @shanelle_gray and my father for their special support regarding this matter, I really couldn't have done it without them," she added.

Hopefully, the young Winter can fully achieve her goals in life especially since she went through so much at a young age. "Thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans who have supported me through all of my endeavors in life, and have encouraged me. Thank you for making my life so special! I can't wait to embark on my new adventures. Xo," she continued.
