The Mistresses producers will be moving the show down an unexpected path for the Season 3 premiere. The ladies of Mistresses won't have to go through the time jump that everyone originally expected.

The ABC drama Mistresses covers the scandals of four girlfriends going about their drama-filled lives. Savi is a successful businesswoman caught between her husband and her very real attraction to her colleague, Dominic. Josslyn isn't interested in a long-term relationship, but she has been living a capricious lifestyle. April is attempting to rebuild her life after her husband's death, but she genuinely believes her husband is still alive. Finally, Karen the therapist is reconnecting with her friends, but she hides dark secrets that are tearing her guilt conscience to pieces.

In the last season, fans of the Mistresses were heartbroken to find out that Alyssa Milano's character, Savi, will be leaving the show. This is because Milano does not want to relocate her family to Vancouver after the show's producers decided to move there from California. While the show spent two successful seasons in the U.S., moving to Vancouver would reportedly save the network a lot of money.

Now, Season 3 will not begin with a time jump, although it will be more difficult to explain Savi's disappearance. "Everyone had big news coming in," Jes Macallen, the actress behind Joss explained. "Karen's on the phone with the doctor, April's got her daughter watching the TV [learning that] her dad was alive and now dead. Let's go back to those moments."

As it stands, Mistresses will premiere sometime in the summer of 2015.
