‘Mission Impossible 5’ News: First Trailer Released, Movie Titled ‘Rogue Nation’ [VIDEO]
The title and first trailer for the fifth installment of the 'Mission Impossible' franchise was released last Sunday. The action packed promo of the film revealed that it has been titled 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.'
According to IB Times, the just released promo of 'Rogue Nation' shows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) getting into trouble once again after he is helped by a mysterious woman (Rebecca Ferguson) in escaping. In the upcoming movie, Ethan assembles his crew, which includes Benji (Simon Pegg), William (Jeremy Renner) and Luther (Ving Rhames), to combat a dark force referred to as the Syndicate.
In the video clip, Ethan is seen telling Benji, "The Syndicate is real." He adds, "A rogue nation trained to do what we do."
While Benji says that the Syndicate is an anti-Impossible Mission Force, and they won't be easy to take down, Ferguson's character even claims it's... impossible.
However, as fans are aware, nothing is actually impossible for Ethan Hunt, not even those nerve-racking stunts! The just-released trailer of 'Rogue Nation' is packed with fight scenes, car crashes and even a scene wherein Ethan is out on the wing of an airplane - a stunt that Cruise performed himself.
Talking to USA Today, Cruise said, "That's me the whole time. I was standing right over the tires when we landed," adding, "It's nerve-racking for everyone else, but pretty exciting for me."
Incidentally, fans of the 'Mission Impossible' franchise will be missing actresses Maggie Q and Paula Patton in 'Rogue Nation.' They played the female leads in 'Mission: Impossible III' and 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol,' respectively. According to earlier reports, director Christopher McQuarrie revealed that both the actresses were unavailable to return for the fifth installment of the franchise.
A report by Variety says that the still unnamed character of Ferguson will take over the leading female role. However, Ferguson is not the only newcomer to the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise, as Alec Baldwin is seen in the trailer, and he will probably portray the role of the CIA chief.
'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' is slated to premiere on July 31.
