Miss World 2015 Recap: Miss Spain Declared Winner, Top 10 List

 

The whole world has recognized the Miss World 2015, as Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss, from South Africa, crowned her inheritor, Miss Spain Mireia Lalaguna Royo.

Royo is hailed as the new Miss World 2015, which was held at the Beauty Crown Grand Theater in Sanya, China on Dec. 19. Miss Russia Sofiya Nitikchuk emerged as the first runner-up while Miss Indonesia Maria Harfanti landed as the second-runner up.

During the question and answer portion of Miss World 2015, Miss Spain, who is a 23-year-old Pharmacology graduate, said that just because she was beautiful on the outside did not mean she was beautiful inside. She mentioned that she had something inside her heart that she always tried to give the best of her.

For Miss Spain, she believed in "beauty with a purpose" and wanted to continue its legacy.

In her question and answer portion, first runner-up Miss Russia said that to share her life, love, and happiness with the people was really what she wanted to do while Miss Indonesia said that she had always been inspired by BWAP and to be Miss World would have fulfilled her dreams.

During the final question, it is overt that Miss Spain has positioned herself in the Miss World legacy, according to the official Miss World website. Aside from her answer, her self-esteem, sincerity, and beauty won over the judges and the audience, as per the website.

Coming from the beautiful Barcelona, Miss Spain aspires to pursue her studies with Nutrition, prior to putting up her own business about finding alternative health solutions to orthodox medications. She also studied musical language, harmony, and piano up to grade 8 at the Conservatory of the Lyceum of Barcelona. Miss Spain also loves running, reading, and going skiing in the winter during her free time.

Among 115 women across the globe, the top 20 included Russia, Philippines, Guyana, France, South Africa, Australia, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, South Sudan, Ecuador, Indonesia, Jamaica, Lebanon, Spain, Brazil, Poland, China PR, Scotland, Northern Ireland.

The top 10 included Russia, Guyana, Spain, Jamaica, South Africa, Philippines, Lebanon, Indonesia, France, and Australia.

Aside from Miss Spain, Russia, and Indonesia, the rest of the top 5 included Lebanon and Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Miss England Natasha Hemmings did not make the top 20. According to Telegraph UK, Miss England did not land in the top 20, in spite of singing an "impressive" opera performance and getting into the talent show final. Miss England did not also get massive votes from the viewers and did not win any of the mini competitions.

Miss Canada was reportedly banned by China for speaking up about human rights abuses, and was left out of the show and the Miss World website.

The pageant also featured live performances by Thee Wholls, Julian Believe, Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu. Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Tim Vincent, and Angela Chow hosted the show.

Miss World 2015 stands as the most innovative and spectacular production of the pageant to date.
