Miranda Lambert's Emotional Oklahoma Benefit Concert Performance; Country Star Breaks Down Mid-Song
Miranda Lambert performed at the recent "Healing in the Heartland" concert on Wednesday and the emotion of the night just proved to be too much for the country starlet. Lambert struggled through a rendition of her already-emotional hit "The House That Built Me." The concert was to benefit those affected by the tornadoes that struck Oklahoma last week.
The country singer was moved to tears while singing her hit as a tribute to the pets that were lost or displaced during the storms. She only made it halfway through her performance when she had to stop singing for a few moments and regain her composure. The crowd, unsure of what to do, cheered Lambert on and joined in singing.
The benefit was organized by Oklahoma native Blake Shelton (also Lambert's husband), who kicked off the evening with a performance of "God Gave Me You," and later sang Michael Buble's "Home" with fellow "The Voice" coach Usher.
Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Ryan Tedder and Darius Rucker also performed during the concert.
The event, held at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City and broadcast live on NBC, raised money for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.
