Minnesota Vikings NFL 2014 News, Rumors: Will Adrian Peterson Play Next Year? Running Back Files for Suspension Appeal

Rumors have been flying around nonstop about Adrian Peterson being able to play in the NFL next season. Adrian Peterson is a running back for the Minnesota Vikings, but was accused of beating his 4-year-old son with a tree branch which severely injured him. He was indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury on September 11, 2014.

The NFL pulled Peterson from one game, but then eventually said that he would not play for the entire 2014 season. On Monday, an announcement was made that he would appeal his suspension.

Many are saying that Peterson may get to play next season after all. His suspension however, will still be in effect for at least 6 more games of his next playing season.

Peterson's suspension came around the same time of the Ray Rice incident. Rice was seen on video assaulting his current wife. Many have given the NFL some grief over their leniency of these two cases.

Both players have apologized to their fans and to the NFL, but only time will tell if the two will ever play again.

Peterson's appeal will be read over and the NFL will meet on it and make a final decision next week on whether or not he can return to the professional game next season.

The Minnesota Vikings currently have a record of 6-7 and could really use a player like Adrian Peterson back on their roster. As is stands, some are hoping that he will return to play next year, while other still oppose.
