Miley Cyrus News: Burglar who Hit Singer's Toluca Lake Mansion Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
The man who was convicted of burglarizing Miley Cyrus' house in Toluca Lake has been sentenced to two years in state prison.
The house was broken into at least twice in 2014 and once this year, and items that have been stolen include Miley's jewelry, handbags, and her 2014 Maserati Quattroporte, according to Elle Décor.
The Miley Cyrus' family home in Toluca lake, however, has been put up for sale by her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus and listed at $5.995 million, according Hollywood Houses.
According to TMZ, a judge on Wednesday sentenced the man, Rusty Sellner to two years in prison, but gave him credit for the 270 days he has already served. Prosecutors had said Sellner made off with a large amount of both her and her brother's personal property. A hearing will be scheduled at a later date to determine how much in restitution Sellner must pay to Cyrus.
The 22-year-old burglar appeared before court after pleading no contest on February 11 to first-degree residential burglary for breaking into the house.
According to the Daily Mail, Sellner was arrested by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department on January 5th. Reportedly, he has previous convictions for burglary and evading arrest. Charges of receiving stolen property and grand theft were dropped in exchange for Sellner's no contest plea in February.
This is not the first time a man has been sentenced for burglary at the Cyrus house. An Arizona couple was sentenced to prison after burglarizing the pop singer's home in May 2014.
