Microsoft New Spartan Browser News: Windows 10 Internet Browser Uses Cortana

Microsoft Windows 10 Spartan's browser reportedly includes the artificial intelligence assistant Cortana.

The digital assistant can help Windows 10 users to gather information, track packages or even book flights by typing in the Spartan address bar. It will not reportedly be activated by a voice command but it will work more like Google.

For example, if a user types American Airlines in the address bar, it will instantly display the results along with the status of the flights. The Cortana integration in Spartan is expected to replace the usage of Bing in every Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Cortana may not be the only new feature for Windows 10 Spartan since reports say that a digital-inking support will also be launched. This feature will allow users to create and share notes in web pages with the use of a stylus.

In addition, grouped tabs will also be a new feature where users can organize the tabs they open based on a category such as work or personal ones. The user can reportedly compare prices from different sites without the need to switch tabs via the additional feature.

There are also rumors for a Windows 10 Spartan Store application so that Microsoft can update the system easily. The app will reportedly have a desktop version and another version for tablets and mobile phones. These apps will have similar concepts and will be updated regularly as well.

As mentioned, Sparta will have a similar look in all the devices from desktops to handsets. The version for desktops is similar to Google Chrome with an address bar on top and space for tabs. There will be options to go back, forward or refresh a site.

There are a lot of speculations but only Microsoft can confirm what is official on the Microsoft Windows 10 event in Redmond, Washington on Jan. 21.
