Microsoft Windows 10 News, Rumors: New OS Programmed Because of Lackluster Windows 8?

Microsoft unveiled its latest operating system Windows 10, after the poor response that it got from the previous version of the operating system Windows 8.

Skipping a number, the company has decided to go with 10. Windows 8, designed for touch screens or keyboards, was not nearly as popular as Windows 7, which was designed for a screen with a keyboard and a mouse.

Speaking on the number of the version, Terry Myerson, head of the operating systems group, told the audience "Windows 10 will be our most comprehensive platform ever. It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9," according to The Wall Street Journal.

Along with unveiling the new version of the operating system, Microsoft unveiled the latest updates on the software front and two other softwares. The two softwares being, the Microsoft Surface Hub and the HoloLens, a holographic lens with its own untethered computing system.

Windows 10 aims to integrate all platforms into using one operate system and optimize accordingly, be it you desktop, mobile phone, laptop or tablet. This will not only help users who are invested in the Windows eco-system across devices, but also help developers develop apps that will run across platforms, according to The Daily Mail.

The great aspect of Windows 10 is the in-built Cortana. On the desktop, Cortana will be seen as a search box located beside the Start button. The personal voice-assistant will now be available to Windows 10 devices, including desktops and laptops, which is a massive plus point, according to The Verge.

Windows 10 has taken gaming to an all new level, as it has incorporated Xbox app into all his devices. This app allows you your own avatar or log in using your Xbox avatar. A new feature will allows you to record 30 seconds of your gameplay which can be sent across to Xbox Live so that Xbox users can watch it as well, according to The Daily Mail.
