Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs: Upcoming Device Launch Delayed Due To Intel’s Kaby Lake Processor?

In line with the anticipated release of Microsoft's Surface Pro 5, it is revealed that the giant tech is not yet going to release the device due to Intel's chipset.

Microsoft has not yet given an official announcement on the release date of its Surface Pro 5, as Intel has not given an exact release date for its Kaby Lake chipset, Value Walk has learned. As per reports, Kaby Lake, Intel's new generation processor, is set to be contained by the forthcoming Surface Pro 5.

According to PC Tablet, the Intel Kaby Lake processor is assumed to be released this month, which is followed by its integration to the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. As per the publication, it is rumored that the tech giant is working on a more distinct Surface Pro 5, as compared to its predecessor.

Aside from the speed, the Intel Kaby Lake processor is assumed to boost the battery conservation of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. According to The Bit Bag, this is Microsoft's move to correct the negative points of its Surface Pro 4 and the Skylake chipset, which has battery issues after its release.

In addition to the Intel Kaby Lake processor, the Surface Pro 5 is also set to include Polaris, an AMD graphics processor known for gaming features. Thus, it is assumed that the upcoming tech is set to increase its value when it comes to gaming.

Overall, it is assumed that Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 is set to arrive in June. Exact details on the device specifications are yet to be revealed.
