Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Device with Windows 10 Arriving Before iPad Pro?
While recent reports claim that Apple Inc. has delayed the launch of its iPad Pro until somtime later in 2015, its rival, Microsoft is keen to take advantage of the situation by releasing its super-sized Surface Pro 4 earlier than expected.
IB Times reports that many media outlets have already disclosed that the production of the much anticipated 12.9-inch iPad Pro has been delayed owing to problems related to supply of display panels. Taking advantage of the situation, Microsoft will try to make its tablet available before the scheduled time to fill the gap.
A recent report by The Inquisitr says that the Redmond, Washington-based tech titan will launch an upgraded Surface Pro 4 two-in-one tablet before the new iPad Pro arrives on the market. Earlier reports hinted that Microsoft will be launching two variants of the tablet - one model with a 12-inch display and another with a 14-inch screen.
The new Surface Pro 4 will possibly run on Intel's latest Core M Broadwell processor, which is used extensively in ultra-slim fan-less laptop designs such as the latest 12-inch Retina MacBook. Both the variants of the tablets are reported to sport a 2,160 x 1,440 pixel resolution.
If the recent rumors turn out to be true, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is likely to be launched some time around July. However, the sources have just hinted an early release of the device, but, as of now, there is no concrete news about their release.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Microsoft intends to release the most-advanced desktop operating system, Windows 10, some time later in 2015. The new OS will not only power PCs, but mobile devices too. It has been a practice with Microsoft to accompany its OS releases with new devices and, hence, the tech community is expecting that the Surface Pro 4 will be launched alongside the Windows 10.
Apart from the Surface Pro 4, there are also rumors that the Redmond tech giant may launch a miniature version of the tablet, which is likely to be dubbed as Surface Pro Mini. It is expected that the new device will be arriving some time in fall, which will make it more likely to be launched together with the Windows 10. According to reports, the Surface Pro Mini is likely to come with an 8-inch display and a powerful processor.
