Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date, Specs: Mobile Windows 10 OS?
Computer giant Microsoft is allegedly gearing up to introduce a new tablet computer to compete with Apple's iPad line.
The surfacing rumors suggest that the successor to the Surface Pro 3 is going to be announced in an official public statement by the Redmond-based company.
Stories are arising after Microsoft has denied the allegations that it would be halting the production of the company's line of Surface Pro tablets. In an official statement by the tech company, there are currently no plans to discontinue the product series, and consumers should feel secure in buying a device from the line.
The tech company has hinted the Surface Pro 4 would be likely coming out soon in a blog post that said it was happy to announce the Surface Pro 3's new accessories, and that it was working on upcoming versions of the Surface product line.
The rumor, which has yet to be denied or confirmed, suggests bigger models of the device line are just around the corner. In the past, however, Microsoft has expressed its interest in releasing tablets with larger screens. There are allegedly two models for the new Surface Pro, one with a 14-inch screen, and the other with only 13 inches.
Apart from the bigger screen, the new model could have a design similar to the Surface Pro 3, as Microsoft is not aiming to make any significant changes to the tablet line that is already well received. Additionally, there are reports that the devices will be released with Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 10.
Arash Fekri, from Master Herald, however, noted it is unusual that the newest models of the Surface Pro would be coming with the OS as it is set to be released in a different year. He added that a mobile version of Windows 10, on the other hand, could possibly pop-up on the Surface Pro 4.
The line of Surface Pro tablets have been praised for having the company's programs for work in the office, and giving a good balance between price and productivity, which make the tablets great for business-oriented, as well as personal use, according to Fekri.
The Surface Pro line, which can run both tablet and desktop apps, comes with their own detachable keyboards. The tablets can even run the full version of photoshopping software, letting artists and designers edit images on the go. Adobe has already released versions of their Photoshop program for the devices, as well as other graphic suite programs for tablets and smartphones.
