Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 Price, Release Date, Specs News: Intel To Power Smartphone?

The news and rumors on the Microsoft Surface phone have been silent these past few days, but a new leak surfaced about what can be expected from the smart phone when it releases in a few months' time.

According to notorious tipster, Evan Blass, the new Microsoft Surface phone will be "powered by a laptop-class Intel processor, would this have blown your mind?"

This seemed to confirmed previous rumors on news sites about the Microsoft Surface phone being powered by Intel. If this is true, the company is really sending a message to its competitors out in the market to step up their game.

As to the Microsoft Surface phone specs, there's not much to go expect for the rumors that have been circulating for a while now.

According to PCAdvisor, early reports on the device revealed that it will follow the lead of the Surface tablet with a "squared metallic design. The size would be about 5.5 inches and the display will feature AMOLED tech with resolution of 1440 x 2560p.

In terms of memory, the phone will reportedly have 4GB of RAM along with either 64GB or 128GB of storage, which can be expanded through the microSD card slot. The phone will be running 64-bit Intel processor. The main camera at the back will reportedly feature 21 megapixel, although there's no report if it will have dual lens. The front snapper, meanwhile, will be 8 megapixel.

For price of the Microsoft Surface phone, it will reportedly range between $700 and $1,100.
