Microsoft Office App Update News: New Outlook App for iOS and Android Devices

Good news is awaiting the users of Android and iOS devices, as the latest release of Microsoft's new Office app update, for Android and iOS, can help techies now carry out their tasks very easily on their handheld devices.

Last Thursday Microsoft announced that it will be releasing versions of Office mobile for users of Android. In addition to that, it has also promised latest version of Outlook for both Android and iOS.

After almost a year of Microsoft's first Office app release for the iPad, the same apps will now be available for Android devices. The apps will also consist of the familiar "ribbon" navigation and will let users create, edit word documents, use MS Excel features in spreadsheets, and work on presentations easily. In addition to this, users can also share the documents effortlessly.

The newly launched MS Apps can work for Android tablets with screen size 7 inches or larger having ARM based processors and at least 1 GB of RAM. For tablets with more than 10.1 inches of screen size, an Office 365 subscription will be needed. The apps are also compatible with Android Kitkat (Android 4.4).

The Outlook update provides the much-awaited improvements to the Outlook app, including, but not restricted to swiping gestures, scheduler for e-mails and Outlook calendar features. With the help of new Outlook app, iOS and Android users can now share their availability with others and schedule meetings in an easy manner.

Notably, the announcement of Microsoft's latest apps and their updates comes just a day after the announcement of "Workmail" facility by Amazon.
