Microsoft Lumia 535 vs Nokia Lumia 530 Comparison: Specs, Features, Price Review - Worth the Upgrade?
Microsoft is set to release its first non-Lumia smartphone with the Microsoft Lumia 535, and consumers and gadget enthusiasts are now wondering if it's better to upgrade to the new smartphone or stick with the Nokia Lumia 530.
Microsoft acquired Nokia's Devices and Services department in 2013 and since then, many have been anticipating how Microsoft will affect the upcoming Lumia phones.
Now the company has the Microsoft Lumia 535 under its belt, and comparisons between Microsoft's budget smartphone and the older Nokia Lumia 530 have been appearing on sites such as IBTimes, Today, Phone Arena, NDTV, and more.
The Lumia 535 comes with a 5-inch Gorilla Glass 3 display with 540x960 resolution, while the Lumia 530 comes with a 4-inch display and a resolution of 480x854. So in terms of display, there isn't much of a change.
The Lumia 535 operates using the1.2GHz quadcore Snapdragon 200, comes with 1GB RAM and an internal storage of 8GB that can be expanded up to 128GB. The Lumia 530, on the other hand, operates with a similar 1.2GHz quadcore Snapdragon 200 processor and has 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB. However, it comes at a smaller 512MB RAM, which may not appeal to some consumers.
The Lumia 535 has a 5mp front cam and a matching 5mp rear cam, as well as LED flash and geotagging, and it easily one ups the Lumia 530 with its 5mp rear cam and a lack of a front camera.
Both phones run the latest Windows phone 8.1 operating platform, but the Lumia 535 comes with a 1905 mAh battery that runs on 11 hours, while the Lumia 530 comes at 1430 mAh battery at a longer 13 hours.
When it comes to the pricing, the Lumia 535 comes at $179, while the Lumia 530, being an older model, has been sold for as low as $95.
