Microsoft 2015 New App News, Rumors: 'People Sense' Application Leaks via Video

According to a leak provided by Spanish news site Microsoft Place, Microsoft is planning on releasing a location app called People Sense. No one knows how Microsoft Place got its hand on the developing app, but a video uploaded by the news site suggests that it has similarities to Apple's Find My Friends app.

Dan Kedmey of Time said, "But People Sense adds a number of features that makes communication a bit more seamless - tapping one of the markers will give the user options to message, call or pull up driving directions to the person of interest."

The video showed different features that will be included. An image of People Sense was also leaked and its home page said, "You can now invite people to your trusted circle. Once they accept your invitations, you will know immediately where they are and what they are doing as demonstrated in the map view below." The Trusted Circle mainly comes from user's friends and family lists on their phones. The map is powered by Bing Maps. This real-time location feature will help its users keep in touch with their closest contacts.

However, People Sense is not available yet. The leak happened on February 17, indicating that the app is still in its early stage of development. Another indication that People Sense is still under development is the fact that the app has a codename called Buddy Aware.

According to Windows Central, whether or not People Sense will replace Microsoft's Rooms, which the company told sources that it was dropping its support for, is still up for debate.

The consensuses across sources that have reported this leak agree that People Sense looks to be a promising feature to Windows 10 phones.
