Michelle Obama News: First Lady Redecorates White House Dining Room

The White House sure has a lot of talented people in it. Not just the current President, Barack Obama but also his First Lady, Michelle Obama who just proved to everybody that she can do even more than what she has already been seen doing.

Apparently, Mrs. Obama is also a great interior designer as she just recently showed off her masterpiece in redesigning the White House State Dining Room adding a touch of her classy taste and some new furnirture for the room.

Although it has been reported that before the first lady got the chance to enjoy decorating the Dining room, she first underwent an approval process with The Committee for the Preservation of the White House, an advisory panel that oversees all changes made to the property.

So Mrs. Obama did her homework and finally got the chance to bring in new furniture to the dining room like the new Mahogany dining chairs. Not only that, the photos released showed also some new silk drapes in beige and blue stripes that definitely added more classic flavor to the room.

The First Lady also apparently wanted a new set of fine china replacing the old ones in the White House with new Kailua Blue china. Reportedly, Mrs. Obama was personally the one who added the finishing touches for the room and indeed, it looks like a masterpiece of one professional interior designer.

And when it comes to the price, Mrs. Obama definitely didn't go cheap. She reportedly updated the cost worth of the formal dining room at $590,000, according to the reports of multiple outlets and was paid for by the White House Endowment Trust. This is a private fund run by the White House Historical Association.

Mrs. Obama really outdid herself this time proving to everybody that not only can she take care of her family she can also apparently take care of the whole White House.
