Michael Schumacher Health Condition News: F1 Legend's Wife Sells Jet & Vacation Home
Michael Schumacher's family may have imposed a media blackout regarding the former Formula One champion's health, but a report from German magazine Bunte says that Schumacher's wife, Corinna has sold their 25 million pound jet, as well as their holiday home. The report states that Corinna decided to do so after accepting that her husband will never fully recover.
After sustaining debilitating brain injuries following a tragic ski accident in the French Alps, Schumacher's wife sold the expensive assets thinking he will "never fully recover to enjoy them again," as noted in an International Business Times article.
The F1 legend reportedly still cannot speak and acknowledge his loved ones, and one source has said that his recovery has been "painfully slow."
"She knows her husband, who requires care and therapy around the clock, will never enjoy these things again," reads the Bunte article.
As pointed out by the International Business Times, Schumacher's wife has also taken over his 500 million pound business empire, a development that has reportedly caused a rift between Corinna and her father-in-law, Rolf.
"Corinna underwent a remarkable transformation"”from his wife to the clan chief, a lady trained as a sales clerk to the manager of a multimillion company," the Bunte article also states.
Schumacher built his empire on the strength of his success as a Formula One driver, winning seven world championships, which is still more than anyone else in the history of the sport has managed. As noted by the International Business Times, he was also the only driver in Formula One that finished in the top three in every race for an entire season, which he did on his way to breaking the record for most consecutive podium finishes.
Schumacher had his unfortunate accident in December 2013 at the Meribel resort in France.
