Miami Heat NBA 2015 News: Chris Bosh Released from Hospital Following Blood Clot Scare

Good news coming out of Miami for the Bosh family and the Miami Heat as Chris Bosh has been discharged from the South Florida hospital where he was treated for blood clots found in one his lungs, the Associated Press reports.

"That was his first goal. He's been very anxious to get out of there. It was driving him nuts," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was quoted saying, who clarified that the all-star forward was released Friday.

Bosh's release from the hospital is a welcome development after the scare of being diagnosed with blood clots in his lung just days after former NBA star Jerome Kersey died when a blood clot traveled from his leg to his lung.

The sweet shooting big was hospitalized for more than a week, with his condition still to be closely monitored even as he moves to his home.

Bosh was complaining of pain on his side and back, but played through it for a few days. After the All-Star weekend in New York, where he participated in the Shooting Stars event, as well as the All-Star Game, he went to a hospital for evaluation.

Bosh was coming from a brief holiday with teammate Dwyane Wade in Haiti when he was struck by severe pain.

While there is no timetable set for his return, the consensus is he could miss the rest of the season.

"We'll get there when we get to that point. Right now, the big thing is he's at home and we'll take the next step when we get there," said Spoelstra.

Before Kersey passed away, he underwent a knee surgery earlier in the week. It was said that the blood clot traveled from his repaired leg to his lung.

The 30-year-old Bosh is averaging 21.1 points and seven rebounds for the Heat this season.
