‘Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain' News, Rumors: Kojima to Continue to Work on his Final Game MGS Title
The upcoming sequel to the Metal Gear Solid franchise will be slated to release on September 1, 2015 despite rumors that game creator, Hideo Kojima, has left Konami. The game will be available on the following next generation consoles and its predecessors, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC edition will be released at a much later time within the year.
Hideo Kojima had announced that MGS V: PP would be his final creation. "I always say this will be my last Metal Gear, but the games in the series that I've personally produced - Metal on MSX, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker - and now Metal Gear Solid 5 constitute a single Metal Gear saga," the 51-year-old Japanese gaming genius said.
With that being said, Kojima has announced with Konami a promise that he will still be very involved in finishing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V.
"I want to reassure fans that I am 100 percent involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; I'm determined to make it the greatest game I've directed to date. Don't miss it!" Kojima says to fan reassuringly last month.
The recent rumor about the designer's rumored split from the gaming publisher started a few months ago when an anonymous source had reported to Gamespot that employees in Konami were given restrictive access which includes Kojima not being able to access company Internet, emails, and phone calls. Further on, the team who is currently working with MGS V: PP were demoted to being "contractual" on their employee status instead of permanent.
With the current issue at hand, Konami has not released an official statement regarding one of Kojima's brainchild games "Silent Hills," also rumored to have been cancelled. Konami has not clearly stated cancellation but only said that there are no further announcements about "Silent Hills."
