MercyMe Releases Greatest Hits Album 'I Can Only Imagine - The Very Best Of MercyMe' Ahead Of March 16 Movie Release
The award-winning, multi-platinum selling band MercyMe has just released I Can Only Imagine - The Very Best of MercyMe, a collection of 13 of the band's most beloved songs, including "I Can Only Imagine (The Movie Session)" a special version of the hit song recorded exclusively for the film with the same name, slated for release in theaters on March 16.
The greatest hits album features songs like "Flawless," "Word of God Speak," "God With Us," as well as the original recording of "I Can Only Imagine," all carefully selected by the band members themselves. This collection of expertly written songs are a great reminder of what a remarkable career the five-time Grammy-nominated band have enjoyed since their debut in 2001.
Last week, the members of MercyMe attended the world premiere of the new film "I Can Only Imagine," alongside host Scott Hamilton and members of the cast, including Dennis Quaid, Trace Adkins, J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll, Priscilla Shirer and more. The film is based on MercyMe frontman Bart Millard's first memoir released last month and tells the true story based on his life. Millard wrote the song "I Can Only Imagine" following the loss of his father to cancer.
In addition to the greatest hits album and the film, the children's picture book I Can Only Imagine by Bart Millard is also releasing next week.
The band is currently performing alongside Tenth Avenue North and Tim Timmons on the "MercyMe LIVE" tour, which wraps on April 15 in Sioux Falls, S.D.. The tour is in support of MercyMe's latest album, the Grammy-nominated Lifer, featuring the singles "Even If" and the latest single "Grace Got You" Feat. John Reuben which was released to radio last Friday.
