Joan Rivers News: Melissa Rivers Remembers her Mother on her Birthday, Gives Fans a Sneak Peek of Museum Exhibit
The iconic TV personality, the late Joan Rivers, is remembered today on her birtdhay, as she would have been 82. Her daughter Melissa Rivers gave everyone a treat, opening her mother's museum exhibit today, just in time for Joan's fans to reminisce her joyous life.
Taking a snapshot of Joan's Grammy Award for Best Spoken Album in 2014 which the comedienne unfortunately didn't get to receive herself as she already passed away. Melissa nevertheless wanted everyone to remember the great Joan on her birthday posting the photo on her WhoSay page.
"Hey everyone - here's a little 'sneak peek' of @TheGRAMMYmuseum exhibit opening today. @Joan_Rivers Can We Talk? @TheGRAMMYs @EnterMissThang @LALive #TeamRivers," Melissa wrote as a caption to the photo showing Joan's award for her work in 'Diary of a Mad Diva'.
The exhibit of all things about Joan Rivers called: 'Can We Talk?' is said to be opening today at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and will close in September just in time to remember Joan's death anniversary.
Several of Joan's friends remembered her birthday today like Larry King who posted a previous photo of him with the late Joan Rivers on Twitter writing, "Remembering @Joan_Rivers on what would've been her 82nd birthday. You're dearly missed,friend."
Meanwhile, some celebrities also remembered Joan in her famous quotes. Jen Kirkman wrote on twitter, "Why should a woman learn to cook? So her husband can say, 'My wife makes a great cake,' to some hooker?" - happy birthday Joan Rivers."
Joan Rivers died in September at 81 from a complication during her throat surgery in New York City. Melissa was quick to announce the heart breaking news at that time releasing a statement saying, "It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother. She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother."
"Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers we have received from around the world. They have been heard and appreciated. My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon," she continued.
