'Mega Man Legacy Collection': Capcom Releases New Challenge Mode Details [VIDEO]

Japanese video game developer and publisher Capcom surprised several fans when it announced the 'Mega Man Legacy Collection' for multiple platforms at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Now, the company has decided to offer some details regarding the upcoming game, especially the collection challenge modes and the exclusion of 'Mega Man 7' and 'Mega Man 8.'

IB Times reports that Capcom recently revealed on its Capcom Unity blog that the 'Mega Man Legacy Collection' Challenge Mode will comprise 50 different challenges for expert 'Mega Man' fans as well as hardcore gamers. Each challenge will have its individual leaderboard for online boasting, in addition to video replay functionality for players who wish to see how the other players have advanced through the levels or desire to evaluate their personal performances.

The company also offered reasons as to why it did not include 'Mega Man 7' and 'Mega Man 8' in the collection. It said that this was mainly because how Digital Eclipse would be processing the game.

A report by Game Informer stated that the developers are employing some of the original assets of the first six 'Mega Man' games, which will lead to a number of the original glitches present in the original games, in addition to the complete riddance of hardware-level glitches. For now, there is no information about whether the titles would receive their individual digital releases in the future.

Capcom also discussed other aspects discussed of the 'Mega Man Legacy Collection,' including the filters that players can choose when they give the title a spin. A number of these can also be used to re-create the visual traits of older televisions. In addition, fans are also able to choose to have the game extended for a full screen experience or opt for unique filters designed for every individual installment in the 'Legacy Collection.'

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned that the 'Mega Man Legacy Collection' forms another part of Capcom's plan to re-release older games for the current-generation consoles. This started with the first 'Resident Evil' game. Since then, Capcom has announced 'Resident Evil Zero HD' and has released the 'DMC: Devil May Cry - Definitive Edition' as well as the 'Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition' for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Fans may download the 'Mega Man Legacy Collection' for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, 3DS and PC this summer.
