'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Movie News: New Trailer Introduces 'The Scorch' [VIDEO]
Dylan O'Brien, 23-years-old, will be coming back to play his character, Thomas, in the sequel to The Maze Runner, which was released in 2014.
The first movie ended leaving fans with a lot of questions, and in the first trailer for the new film, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Thomas can be seen looking for some answers. What he finds is quite shocking.
The trailer was released on May 19, and it has left fans of the first film eager to find out about WCKD and their plan for Thomas and the other runners.
According to the trailer, some other burning questions that will be addressed in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, include the discovery of other Mazes, and what caused the world to end.
In the trailer, Thomas and the other survivors from The Maze Runner are introduced to "The Scorch" which is what is left of Earth: nothing but a desert wasteland.
Other revelations in the trailer include the fact that there were other Mazes and other runners, and apparently, the WCKD organization was behind everything.
Grievers, the monsters from the first film, can be seen being grown in vats and soldiers with guns run down the Gladers.
Thomas and the crew try to escape the Scorch, only to find that they are faced with threat after threat.
For those fans who love an action packed adventure, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials seems like it will be quite a thrill.
In a sneak peek, O'Brien also discusses The Flare, a virus that has also taken over the world. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials comes to theaters September 18, 2015.
