Matthew McConaughey News: Actor’s Wife Camila Alves Officially Becomes a United States Citizen
Matthew McConaughey has definitely a big reason to celebrate as his wife and model Camila Alves, is now officially a United States Citizen. Just recently, Alves shared the good news with everyone after being on hiatus from her social media.
Her return from being in Thailand and Cambodia to the US is definitely a big celebration as she stopped over by the courthouse for a special ceremony together with her husband and actor McConaughey and their three children.
"Sorry all! I was gone for a bit and had to disconnect to connect in Thailand and Cambodia!" she wrote on her Instagram Tuesday afternoon showing a photo of her family posing together inside the courthouse adding, "First day back and look what I just went thru."
Alves is apparently Brazilian born and now reports that she holds a US passport since her family are all born in the USA. "It is with great pride and honor that I am happy to say I now hold an American passport!" the model continued writing adding her appareciation for her newly found home. "I have so much respect and appreciation for this country...#newUScitizen."
Of course the mom of three is happy but her husband might be happier since he wouldn't have any trouble anymore for having his wife home with him in his own country. "Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today - another fellow and great American," McConaughey wrote on his Twitter.
McConaughey had always supported and loved his wife from the beginning of their marriage even after three kids as he gushed about her in his past red carpet appearance.
"Now I get to wake up next to someone who I know loves me the way she does-my wife-who gave birth to our three beautiful, healthy children," he shared with Haute Living Los Angeles. "I get to live in a nice place, and I have things to look forward to every day-work, play, and sometimes nothing at all."
