‘Mass Effect: Andromeda' News Update: Release Date Pushed Back To 2017?; 4D Theme Park Opened
The Bioware update on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" may be good or bad news for fans as the release date won't come until March of 2017. Nevertheless, there's a small consolation for its huge mass base as the 4D theme park in California has already opened.
According to Aaryn Flynn, Bioware general manager, posted the news update on the "Mass Effect" website as he outlined the changes in the game, particularly on More Freedom, New Unchartered Worlds, as well as being the first to be built on Frostbite engine.
The game promises to be a whole new adventure as the events are far removed from the first three games.
He said that based on their early assessment of the game while in the studio (there's no beta version, yet), the developers know that they are going in the right direction.
"We're pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history," Flynn wrote. "But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be - that's our commitment from all of us to all of you."
In a related development, the California's Great America amusement park has opened another attraction, the "Mass Effect" 4D theme park ride, according to the report.
"BioWare and EA have both signed off on the project and helped produce its CGI visuals, which take visitors on a tour of the Mass Effect galaxy," it said.
Meanwhile, the Bioware exec also said that fans can expect another news update on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" during the EA Play conference scheduled on June 12.
