‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ Trailer News: BioWare Releases Cinematic Trailer [VIDEO]

Some time back, when the Canadian video game developer BioWare announced that it was working on a new 'Mass Effect' title, it meant little for the fans of this science fiction action role-playing third person shooter video game series. However, fans were thrilled when the company released a cinematic trailer together with the official name of the game - 'Mass Effect: Andromeda," at the recently concluded 2015 E3.

According to IB Times, recently, BioWare shared the progress that the team has made with the game in an official post in its blog. It stated that 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' was in the planning stage soon after the completion of 'Mass Effect 3: Citadel' in 2013. In effect, the plan for 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' is said to be an amalgamation of the best of what fans have seen in the 'Mass Effect' series so far. At the same time, it has an objective of offering something more to the fans.

As the trailer suggests, this is the reason why 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' is venturing into new territory. The playable character in the upcoming game can be a male or female having an upgraded Mako as a vehicle and the entire Andromeda galaxy to travel around. In addition, the developer also indicated that 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' will only be available for the current-gen consoles - PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.

According to BioWare, 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' will be running on Frostbite engine. In an interview with Ars Technica, BioWare's Aaryn Flynn revealed that the team working has also utilized face-scanning technology in creating the title. Earlier, this technology was used in the NBA title from EA. However, the developer did not confirm whether or not individual player face-scanning is an option in 'Mass Effect: Andromeda.'

In addition to the latest cinematic trailer, VG 24/7 also posted some screenshots of 'Mass Effect: Andromeda,' which reveals the inside of a ship as well as what seems kike the barren dry land of a planet.

It is worth mentioning here that though BioWare is working on the new 'Mass Effect' title, it does not suggest that the developer will revisit the previous editions of the game with a view to roll out remastered versions. Precisely speaking, EA has clarified that it does not have any plans on delivering a 'Mass Effect' trilogy for the PS4 or Xbox One.

IGN quoted Patrick Soderlund of EA saying, "I won't like and say we haven't looked at it," Adding, "But for us, it's about weighing where we spend our resources."

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is coming in the holidays of 2016.
