'Mary Poppins 2' Movie Cast Update: Lin Manuel Miranda Co-Stars With Emily Blunt?
"Chicago" director, Rob Marshall, has been chosen to direct a sequel for "Mary Poppins." As reported in Screen Rant, "Mary Poppins 2" would be filmed in a London depression-based era.
Following this announcement is an update of the alleged new cast for the sequel. According to Screen Rant, "Hamilton" star, Lin Manuel Miranda, is allegedly under negotiation to play Jack in the upcoming "Mary Poppins 2." Jack is best described as Mary Poppins' lamplighter. In fact, he has been labeled as the film's "lamplighter resembling the character of Bert."
Miranda was the writer of the original music theme of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," as reported in Denofgeek.us. According to the site, Miranda is also in the process of making music for an up and coming Disney film, "Moana." Rumor has it that Miranda has been tapped to create music for "Mary Poppins 2."
Meanwhile, as reported in Lawyer Herald, Disney chose Emily Blunt to reprise the role of Emily Blunt in the leading role. It's still a take away, though, as to which actor would take the role of Bert in "Mary Poppins 2."
According to Inquisitr, Blunt is a match made in heaven for "Mary Poppins 2." As written in a Lawyer Herald article the reason why this is so is:
"Blunt is reportedly rosy-cheeked, charismatic, delicate and British which is just like Andrews in the first movie."
"Mary Poppins 2" might have been made in spirit of women empowerment. The upcoming film is deemed similar to female led starring role movies such as "Frozen", "Inside Out" and "Brave", among others.
