Marvel's 'A.K.A Jessica Jones' Spoilers, Cast News: New Series Features Mike Colter in 2015
Marvel Studios has just confirmed the addition of a new cast member in the upcoming Netflix adaption of Marvel Comics 'Jessica Jones'. Besides Krysten Ritter, who will star as protagonist Jessica Jones, Mike Colter will play the role of Luke Cage.
The official title for the upcoming series is, 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones', and all the episodes in the first season are scheduled to release in 2015.
Stepping into what subscribers of the streaming client can expect to see when they tune into the new series, Marvel provided some insight. In their cast announcement post, they mentioned how the main character, Jessica Jones, will encounter the new cast member in the role of Luke Cage.
The post reads: "During the course of an investigation in New York City, private investigator Jessica Jones encounters the enigmatic Luke Cage - a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined."
Moreover, Executive Producer/Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg commented about the new addition to the cast of 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones'. She said to Marvel, "Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage," adding, "We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life."
Those unfamiliar with Mike Colter's acting prowess can check out some of the TV shows he appears in. He is seen in a number of critically-acclaimed television series, including 'The Good Wife' and 'American Horror Story: Coven'.
Additionally, Mike Colter is currently playing a role in the PlayStation Network's original series 'Halo: Nightfall' as Jameson Locke.
Last but not least, some plot spoilers were also revealed way ahead of the series premiere on Netflix.
In 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones', "After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City."
