'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2 Cast Rumors: Jeremy Renner To Feature as Hawkeye in TV Series?

If rumors doing the rounds on the Internet are to be believed, fans of the action-adventure television drama series on ABC, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', may see a top Hollywood actor joining the cast when the show returns to the small screen on March 3 after its winter hiatus.

According to Christian Today, there are rumors that hit actor Jeremy Renner is likely to appear in the second season of the hugely successful television version of Marvel's popular comic series 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'. The news first appeared on ComicBook when the actor apparently teased fans regarding what they can expect from his character Hawkeye.

The report further states that Renner also posted a photo showing him in complete Hawkeye outfit. He, however, does not explain why he is wearing the costume. As a result, there have been speculations that the character may be seen on television soon, following his appearance in the 'Avengers 2' movie, which is scheduled for release shortly.

Additionally, some reports claimed that Joss Whedon, Marvel Cinematic Universe director, asked for to re-shooting of some of the sequences in the sequel of the 'Avengers' movie with a view to make it more action-packed. Nevertheless, fans are of the view that Renner donned the Hawkeye costume because of the TV series. In fact, this possibility cannot be overruled completely, considering the fact that Hawkeye's counterpart Clint Barton is related to S.H.I.E.L.D. owing to his association with Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) in the comic books.

Nevertheless, there is no confirmation regarding these rumors. Neither Renner, nor Marvel, or even ABC has said anything officially in this regard.

Apart from Renner appearing in the second season of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', rumors are also rife that other 'Avengers' characters will also be visiting the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters shortly. Tony Stark portrayed by Robert Downy Jr., who is speculated to appear in the TV adaptation of the comic series without his signature Iron Man suit, is one of these characters.

In addition, there are reports that claim that Scarlett Johansson's character Black Widow will also visit the set of the popular Marvel TV series.
