Marvel Cast Change News: Kevin Feige Talks About Replacing Actors in Future Films
Fans of the MCU may not want to get attached to the faces they see representing their favorite superheroes so fast, as they'll certainly won't be around to reprise them forever.
While this may seem obvious to some people, a lot of people aren't thinking about long-term, as a lot of the actors are getting up there in age, along with their contracts. Marvel President Kevin Feige recently addressed this in a recent interview with THR.
He doesn't particularly say when, but he does leave it out there that they plan to run with this franchise for as long as humanly possible. He explains:
"But one day, it will be a combination. It will be a combination of choosing which characters to continue on with and explore and which to bring in, as we're doing with Captain Marvel and Black Panther. And certainly to recast in some way or another - as we've already done in certain cases. Certainly many other franchises have reached that milestone before we have and done that with great success."
Feige made a good comparison with the franchise and James Bond movies in a previous interview with Badass Digest:
"I think Bond is a good example. Let's put it this way: I hope Downey makes a lot of movies for us as Stark. If and when he doesn't, and I'm still here making these movies, we don't take him to Afghanistan and have him wounded again. I think we James Bond it."
Its a pretty somber thought for a lot of fans, but if you've managed to trust the franchise for this long, it may not be something you'll have to worry about.
