'Married... With Children' News: Actor David Faustino Opens Up About Series Cancellation

"Married... With Children" star David Faustino recently opened up about the abrupt cancellation of the series.

According to Faustino, playing the role of comical son Bud Bundy was a dream-come-true. He said that despite the fact that he is not as affable as his character in real life, he and the other cast members of the series managed to stay as close as a real family.

In fact, when he guested TV show "Oprah: Where Are They Now," the actor said it was the camaraderie and talent of the stars behind the series that made "Married... With Children" a work experience that they never wanted to end.

"It was such a well-oiled machine and so easy and so much fun and we got along so well that I don't think that any one of us were ready for it to end," said Faustino.

"We were like, 'Let's just ride this thing until the wheels fall off.'"

However, FOX thought differently. After the popular series had aired for a decade, its ratings gradually declined to the point that the network had to cancel it. For Faustino, the cancellation was pretty abrupt.

"It was pretty shocking. They made just a real hard, cold business decision, like while we were shooting the last season. It was like, 'Oh no, we're cutting it. That's done,'" said Faustino.

The actor also said that more than the cast members, the fans were really the ones that got screwed over by the cancellation.

"They didn't get any resolution or end or something cool as a last episode. Fans are still pretty ticked about that," he said.
