Marisa Tomei News: Actress Joins the Cast of 'Empire' for Season 2

Things just got even more interesting in the upcoming second season of the hit Fox series 'Empire' as it again added another big-named celebrity to its already star-studded cast members, guest stars and recurring roles.

Just recently, it has just been confirmed that actress Marisa Tomei just got listed to play one of the recurring roles in 'Empire' season 2. According to several reports, Tomei's character will bring even more drama to the Lyon family in the series.

The Oscar winner, Tomei is said to play the recurring role of Mimi Whiteman on the hit hip hop business series. Whiteman or Tomei is said to be a demanding venture capitalist who becomes involved in the family.

Not only that, Tomei's character will have an interesting twist and probably a cat fight with Taraji P. Henson's character that is, Cookie since Whiteman is also reportedly the character that is a lover of hip hop music, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women.

The new series reportedly has increased episodes this season with 12-18 which will split this winter and fall and it premieres in September 12 at 9 p.m. so avid viewers should definitely tune in to see the star studded series once again make a mark in the TV industry.

Tomei will be joined by Magic Mike XXL's Adam Rodriguez who will play the new love interest for Cookie. Other artists include the comedienne Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys who is said to have already booked her guest role screen time with the series.

Tomei is apparently being welcomed in the TV series world as she also has an upcoming miniseries on HBO with Gloria Steinem which is reportedly big since she will be acting with George Clooney, rumors suggest.
