'Mario Kart 8' DLC Pack 2 Release Date News: New Content to Feature ‘Animal Crossing’

'Mario Cart' fans were delighted when developer Nintendo revealed the first ever DLC pack for eighth installment of the racing video game. Now fans will be happier as the Japanese multinational consumer electronics company announced that it would release the second DLC pack in May.

According to Christian Today, as a continuation of its tradition of featuring one cool game for the company's expansion packs, Nintendo will now cross-over their life imitation game 'Animal Crossing' with the 'Mario Kart 8' title. Now, fans of these two series can race across the 'Mario Kart' universe with three new characters - Dry Bowser, Villager, and Isabelle. In addition to the additional characters, the second DLC will also comprise four latest vehicles, eight winding tracks, as well as two new cups.

However, Nintendo has not announced any specific release date of the second DLC in its official website. According to latest rumors that quote a leaked translation of a Nintendo Direct presentation, the second pack is likely to be released on May 7. In addition to the DLC release, Nintendo will also offer new updates for the game, including time laps on TV, latest displays for local two-player modes, one on the gamepad and another on the TV, as well as new amiibo costumes.

It is worth mentioning here that the first DLC pack featured 'The Legend of Zelda' along with Link, Tanooki Mario, and CatPeach as supplementary characters, four new vehicles, eight tracks, in addition to two cups presented.

Players, who want to get the two packs either separately or in a bundle, should have 2GB or more storage space on their systems.

Meanwhile, the pre-order for second pack, which costs $7.99, is available now. Alternatively, players who wish to play both cross-over worlds can also purchase both the packs for $11.99. Players purchasing both the packs in a bundle will receive as an added bonus.
