Mariah Carey’s New Book News: 'All I Want for Christmas is You' to Release on Nov. 10 [VIDEO]

Pop star Mariah Carey wants to gift a new book to her fans this Christmas. She is currently writing a book for children based on her 1994 hit song "All I Want for Christmas is You."

In a recent statement issued to People, Carey said, "When I wrote 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' it was my dream for it to become a classic Christmas song." The singer added, "I am so proud of the song's impact, as it continues to create memories for fans each year."

IB Times reports that the 45-year-old pop diva expects the book to make even more special memories. "I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book," Carey added. While the book will be published by Doubleday Books of Young Readers, a Random House imprint, Colleen Madden will do the illustrations.

In fact, a picture book seems to be an ideal gift for young readers like Carey's four-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon. The book will tell the story of a little girl who wants a puppy for the holidays. The book, "All I Want For Christmas," will be released on Nov. 10, and it is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

With the new book, Carey will be joining a long list of celebrities, including Madonna, John Travolta and Queen Latifah, who have already written books for children. As in the case of those stars, this doesn't mean that the "Infinity" singer will be taking any time away from her other career ventures. On the contrary, Carey will be having a somewhat busy fall. Apart from her first book release, she will also make her directorial debut with a Christmas movie for the Hallmark channel and also star in the untitled flick.

Meanwhile, rumors are rife that Carey will also make an appearance on Fox's music drama 'Empire.' The Guardian quotes the series director Daniel Lee telling the crowd when Carey received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Aug. 5, "Watch her on 'Empire,' you guys. She's coming on 'Empire.'"
