Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather News: Boxing Great Holyfield Sparks Conspiracy Theory

The richest fight in boxing history is just a little over a month away from entertaining fans around the world, and while many experts and former boxing greats have already voiced out their opinion on who's going to win between Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao, conspiracy theories have also surfaced, this time courtesy of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield.

"Mayweather won't win because from what I've seen, boxing doesn't want nobody to get out [of the sport] undefeated," Holyfield told Sports on Earth's Terrence Moore. "They want to keep the money in the sport by doing things to make it happen this way: Somebody beats the man, and then somebody beats the man who beat the man, and then somebody beats the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat the man."

Holyfield's statements echoed that of ESPN's Stephen A. Smith who previously insinuated that Mayweather could be robbed of a decision because a lot of people would want a rematch.

"So I'll tell you what's going to happen, because it's going to be a close fight. Yeah, it'll be close, and Pacquiao is going to get the decision. Then it's going to be a matter of whether Mayweather is going to fight again, whether he feels like he has made enough money to say, 'I ain't got to fight'," Holyfield added.

Of course not everyone agrees with the shared opinion of Holyfield and Smith. In interviews with CBSSports, boxing promoter Rick Glaser, former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr., and Randy Gordon all disagreed with the theory.

"The whole world is watching. This isn't the 1950's. The mob isn't involved anymore. Do you really think Bob Arum or Al Haymon would go out of their way and think that they could approach a judge to arrange something like that?," Glaser told CBSSports.
