Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Fight 2015 News: Rapper 50 Cent Bets Big on Mayweather

After the match against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao was confirmed, seats for the match started selling out, and rapper 50 Cent bet big on Mayweather Jr. to win.

50 Cent told listeners on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club in New York that Mayweather will easily win the match. He said, "Champ 'gon smoke em...it's gonna look like [the fight] was pumped up for no reason." 50 Cent then proceeded to tell listeners that he would bet a whopping $1.6 million on the match.

According to Latinos Post, Mayweather and 50 Cent have been close friends in the past. They were both business partners before the rapper started a promotional company for himself. The two also have had rough patches in the past, scrutinizing each other over social media last year. 50 Cent told followers over Twitter that Mayweather needed to stop ducking potential opponents while Mayweather told 50 Cent that his record sales were declining at an alarming rate.

Despite their fallen friendship, 50 Cent continued to tell The Breakfast Club that he would stand by his decision for Mayweather's next match. The rapper said that he feels that Mayweather is focused and ready to take Pacquiao. They two recently caught up with each other at a Chris Brown concert. 50 Cent said it was a relief to be on speaking terms with the boxer again. Whether or not the two will resume their friendship is still uncertain.

According to Sports Illustrated, Mayweather is the favorite of the match, listed at -295 to Pacquiao's +230. The 37-year-old is 47-0 with 26 KOs. Pacquiao is 36 and has a record of 57-5-2 record with 38 KOs.

The match against Mayweather and Pacquiao is set for May 2 at the MGM Grand.
