Manny Pacquiao Next Fight Rumors 2015: Ready for Floyd Mayweather After Defeating Chris Algieri?

The People's Champ Manny Pacquiao has done it again, retaining his WBO Welterweight title as he defeated Chris Aligieri on November 23 at the Cotai Arena in Macao. The eight-time different weight division champ knocked down Aligieri not once, not twice, but six times during the 12 round-fight and won by unanimous decision.

The scores that the Filipino champion acquired from the judges were 119-103, 119-103 and 120-102. But what was spectacular, according to several news agencies, was that Pacquiao was able to knock down his opponent six times in a single bout.

Meanwhile, Aligieri during his interview post-fight gave the credit to Pacquiao. "It's not so much the punching power, to tell you the truth, it's how he mixes the punches up," he told the press adding, "He has a very, very distinct and unique style that he has perfected. Manny Pacquiao is a hell of a fighter."

With that, reports are now looking to Pacquiao's rumored next fight against the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"It's been a long time since I've been wanting this fight, it has to happen," said Pacquiao to the press, "The fans deserve it. It's a good thing that we talk about that fight. It's time to say yes."

Apparently, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum is just waiting for a call from Mayweather as Pacquiao already proved himself as a worthy opponent. "No excuses. Manny knocked Algieri down six times in one fight. That's twice as many knockdowns as Mayweather has had in all his fights in the last 12 years," Arum told the press.

"All they have to do to is pick up the telephone. I'll be at the phone. Manny will be at his phone," Arum added.
