Manafest Releases 'Diamonds' Music Video Featuring Thousand Foot Krutch's Trevor McNevan; Song Speaks on Drugs & Addiction [WATCH HERE]
Christian singer, rapper, and author Manafest released his latest music video for the single "Diamonds" on his official website www.manafest.com and on YouTube.
"Diamonds," was co-written with frequent collaboratorand friend, Thousand Foot Krutch frontman Trevor McNevan.
"When we were working on the beat, I couldn't stop thinking about someone struggling with addiction and turning to drugs," said Manafest in a press release. "I remember reading Brian 'Head' Welch's book, Save Me From Myself, and how he took a picture of what he didn't want to have power over him. After giving up drugs, he found some while cleaning his house. Before he flushed them down the toilet, he took a picture of them, a reminder of 'Hey, you don't have power over me.' That imagery was on my mind as I was writing 'Diamonds.'"
Unfortunately, the TFK frontman does not make an appearance in the video but Manafest fills in the vocal spot with his image in the video. The chorus features a collage of the artist wearing many different costumes and hats.
"Diamonds" is the follow up music video to "Edge of My Life."
"When I wrote the song 'Edge of My Life' I was picturing families or that person who is struggling just to survive or make ends meat as the saying goes. I've experienced those moments in my life where I felt like I was on the edge of quitting or just in a hard place," he said to Rapzilla, "1 Timothy 6:12 tells us to fight the good fight of faith and the reason it's a good fight is because in the end we win. We just have to keep fighting in the moment and know God always comes through even though sometimes it' feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders."

Manafest spoke to BC about the style of his newest album and what he was looking to do last year.
"Stylistically I went back to a little bit of my roots with rhyming but still singing a lot. Working with a new producer, Joel Prueirre, which we both kind of felt like we stretched each other lyrically and musically. Every album builds, the thing is you have to make sure you are putting a lot of effort in it. It starts to just ride on the successes of the past but you have to force yourself not to do that," he said.
